Lida has promoted Mel Cruickshank to chief executive and has restructured its creative department, following the exit of creative director, Shaun Moran. Cruickshank, previously managing director, replaces Lisa Thomas, who was promoted to chief executive of M&C Saatchi Group in April. Thomas will now also become the chairman of Lida. Ben Rhodes, vice-president for marketing at MasterCard UK and Ireland, is leaving to join Royal Mail. Rhodes, who joined MasterCard five years ago, is expected to replace former Royal Mail brand marketing director Tom Hings, who left in April. ()
Gatwick-based Astraeus Airlines has appointed Bruce Dickinson, Iron Maiden's frontman, as its new marketing director. Dickinson, a qualified pilot, will start his new position at the charter airline with immediate effect, combining the role with his touring commitments with the heavy metal band. ()

David Jowett, the managing director of MediaCom, is set to join Aegis Media in a new senior global client role. Jowett's job title and start date are yet to be finalised, but his appointment is a precursor to wider changes at Aegis Media. Yahoo! has appointed James Wildman as managing director and vice-president of sales for Yahoo! UK & Ireland, replacing Mark Rabe who leaves at the end of the year. Wildman is currently managing director Ids, Virgin Media's sales house and will join Yahoo! in January. ()
News International has appointed Richard Gale, Playboy's European marketer, to the newly created role of brand director for The Sun. Gale, who is currently European sales and marketing director at Playboy TV, will join the publisher in November. ()
Channel 4 has confirmed BBC One controller Jay Hunt is to join them in the recently created role of chief creative officer in early 2011, replacing acting CCO Julian Bellamy who is leaving without a job to go to. Hunt will be an executive member of the Channel 4 board and will report to chief executive David Abraham, who joined the broadcaster in May this year. ()
BBC Trust chairman Sir Michael Lyons has announced that he is to step down after four years in the role and will not seek reappointment in May next year. Lyons has written to Jeremy Hunt, Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport, explaining why he will not seek to continue in the job. ()
YouView, the newly named internet-connected TV consortium developed as Project Canvas, has announced its project director Richard Halton as its first chief executive. Project Canvas is a joint venture between the BBC, ITV, BT, Channel 4, Channel Five, Talk Talk and Arqiva. ()
