The account has been held by M&C Saatchi for the last six years, but it is unlikely the agency will repitch because it is already competing for the more lucrative 拢25m Tourism Australia account.
Even without M&C Saatchi, Tourism New Zealand has indicated that the 100% Pure New Zealand campaign, which the agency created, will continue.
A tender document released by the tourism body says it is looking for a global, full-service advertising firm "with an effective and integrated approach to the ongoing development and management of the 100% Pure New Zealand campaign".
Agencies have until June 10 to express interest in the account. Only firms able of running campaigns in the key markets of Australia, the US, the UK, Japan and Asia, as well as offer a New Zealand-based account service, will be considered.
Earlier this month, it was announced that Tourism Australia had shortlisted M&C Saatchi for the regional portion of its creative review. The shortlist, which also included Clemenger BBDO and Saatchi & Saatchi, did not include incumbent Whybin\TBWA.
