Top Virgin Drinks marketer in exit

Virgin Drinks has restructured its marketing function, leading to the departure of top marketer Karen Connell.

Franchise director Chris Deathe said the restructure was the result of Virgin Drinks' move away from handling marketing for its own drinks over the past two years, with responsibility moving to the franchisees.

In 2002, Princes Soft Drinks struck a deal to manufacture and market Virgin Drinks' products in the UK & Ireland. It produces about 85% of Virgin's products in the UK and Ireland, including its Cola brand.

Responsibility for Virgin at Princes lies with marketing manager Sarah Hemming, who reports to marketing director David Patmore.
