Top Up TV's Jim Hytner moves to agency role at UM

LONDON - Top Up TV commercial director Jim Hytner has been appointed by Universal McCann as European chief.

The former marketing director of ITV and Barclays, is expected to take up the post later this year. He will oversee planning and buying in 25 European countries as part of the role.

Hytner will report to Matt Seiler, the global chief executive of Universal McCann, and Graham Duff, the EMEA president of Interpublic's media holding group Mediabrands.

Hytner replaces Diederik Breijer, who resigned in January after six months in the role.

Duff and Hytner worked together at ITV, when Hytner headed marketing and Duff was the chief executive of Granada Enterprises. Hytner was at the broadcaster between 2001 and 2004.

Hytner joined Top UP TV two years ago from Barclays following four years in the top UK marketing role at the bank.
