
The news that Nestlé Cereals had unveiled a pick and mix breakfast cereal pop-up got everyone’s attention this week. Located at Westfield Stratford, the Aisle of Wonder allows consumers to pick from 12 different Nestlé cereals, including Nesquik, Curiously Cinnamon and Shredded Wheat. Visitors could opt for a bowl of one variety, or mix all 12 together. The pop-up will re-appear at the Arndale Centre in Manchester tomorrow (9 April), where it will remain until 15 April.
Cadbury tapped into the joy of popping bubble wrap with its latest activation, to mark the launch of its new Tastes Like This Feels campaign. The brand covered a section of floor space at Westfield London in a sea of purple bubble wrap, where shoppers were invited to take their shoes off and get popping, while simultaneously eating Cadbury Dairy Milk.
Images from a giant Monopoly activation was also a popular story this week. The oversized board was installed within London’s Trafalgar Square last weekend, as part of the capital’s inaugural London Games Festival. Instead of the usual board locations, the 15m2 installation showcased the chronological history of video games in the UK, with passers-by invited to complete a round of the board to find out more about the sector.
L’Oréal Paris opened a pop-up styling station at Westfield London earlier this week, offering a complimentary styling service, using products from its new Studio Pro product range. Following their ‘new do’ visitors to the pop-up are encouraged to enter a branded photo booth, which will capture an image of their new look which can then be shared on social media. The styling station will remain in situ Sunday (10 April).
Kitchen appliance brand Whirlpool is to open an Avo-Brunch Pop-Up on Sunday (10 April). Working with events company Meredith Collective, the brand will be serving up a three-course avocado-themed brunch and cocktail for ticketholders on selected dates in April and May. A DJ will also be providing entertainment and guests are to receive a grow-your-own avocado gift on their departure.
