Adidas launched an interactive installation at community base Pop Brixton last Friday (12 August), in order to help the brand engage with a young, football-obsessed teen audience. Youngsters were able to test out Adidas’ ACE15 and X15 boots, and take part in daily 2 x 2 tournaments on the specially created replica pitch.

Consumers are queueing to tweet the vending machine

A Cola-Cola branded Twitter-powered vending machine is to be placed in a number of London train stations this month, and will distribute free t-shirts. Consumers are asked to tweet their favourite variant of Coca-Cola alongside the hashtag #ChooseHappiness; the machine then dispenses a t-shirt matching the colour of the chosen drink.

FriendsFest will also feature an exhibition of original props and memorabilia

Comedy Central UK is to recreate Monica Geller’s famous apartment in Friends, in a week-long experience to celebrate the fact the VIMN channel has renewed its exclusive contract to screen the show on British TV. The experience will feature a full-scale replica of the New York apartment, an exhibition of original props and a Central Perk-inspired café.

David Hornby departs Smyle after five years

The announcement that David Hornby is to step down from his role as strategic consultant at Smyle was one of our most read stories of the week. He has worked at the agency since December 2009 and was recently appointed as chairman of sport-focused talent company Hiro, ahead of the Rugby World Cup.

Lavazza coffee and tequila company Jose Cuervo are among the brands that activated at last weekend’s Wilderness Festival (6-9 August). Jose Cuervo transported guests to Mexico through its Tequila Town installation, while Lavazza offered up freshly made beverages, with a chill-out area for festivalgoers to relax and recharge.
