The agency located in Stourbridge said during the 2013/14 financial period turnover grew by £2m to £7m and its client spend was up 40% year-on-year. As a result, Top Banana plans to increase turnover by a further 112% for 2014/15 and to double in size by 2020.

The company’s healthy financial performance comes at the same time that its London office on Tooley Street opened, which has received a £250,000 investment. Five members of staff are located at the London office, which opened in March.

Top Banana has also undergone a rebrand featuring a new logo and grown its existing team by 11 in the last 12 months, bringing the total workforce to 42 members of staff.

Nick Terry, managing director of Top Banana, told Event that while the company predominantly delivers B2B internal events, it would consider working on consumer-facing events should existing clients request it. "Our niche is leadership-driven events, as this industry is a massively oversupplied market.

"For the last four years we have been looking at what we are good at, but if we were already working for a client who wanted us to create a consumer-facing event then we would consider it."

He added Top Banana has delivered events for major international brands during 2014 including Danone, Primark, Gucci, Bacardi and Barclaycard. The agency is currently working on a leadership conference, taking place in South Africa, for an American-owned brand, as well as a similar event for a big fashion corporate.
