Tiscali still in talks with Carphone Warehouse and British Sky Broadcasting

LONDON - Carphone Warehouse and British Sky Broadcasting are still interested in making an offer for Tiscali's UK broadband business, according to a report in the Financial Times.

However, sources quoted in the story said that talks are at an early stage and that no transaction was imminent.

The Italian telecommunications group is currently attempting to reach a deal with banks on a restructuring of its debt after failing to sell to both Carphone Warehouse, which offered £550 million, and BSkyB, which offered £450 million, last year.
