Tiscali buys Planet-Interkom

The acquisitive European ISP Tiscali has agreed to buy German internet company Planet-Interkom for €77m (£47.6m) in cash and shares.

LONDON (Brand Republic) - The acquisitive European ISP Tiscali has agreed to buy German internet company Planet-Interkom for €77m (£47.6m) in cash and shares.

The deal will make Tiscali the fourth-biggest ISP in Germany, adding an extra 685,000 to its subscriber base.

The company has now made 14 acquisitions in the last 19 months in its bid to become the largest ISP in Europe and is reported to be poised to buy LineOne, the ISP put up for sale by its owners BT and United Business Media.
