Times Online sets up 'green' promo

Times Online has announced a deal with United International Pictures UK for the launch of An Inconvenient Truth - a documentary which tackles the subject of global warming, researched and presented by former US Vice President Al Gore - at cinemas from 15 September.

For the media campaign, Times Online, along with its print version The Times, will introduce the "Go Green" microsite on 4 September, designed to offer readers advice on how to live a "greener" life. There will also be a "Green Audit Poll" on readers' attitudes to environmental issues. The deal was brokered by ZenithOptimedia and by Times Media's Joanna Pitt.

Claire Myerscough, development director, Times Media, said: "The combination and power of UIP's message and the extremely diverse audience of Times brand readers should prove a huge success in spreading the message across the UK."

Al Gore appeared as a guest at the Edinburgh International Television Festival.
