The Times appoints Harding as business editor

LONDON - The Times has appointed Financial Times journalist James Harding as its new business and City editor, replacing Patience Wheatcroft who joined the Sunday Telegraph as editor.

Harding was the Washington Bureau chief for the FT from 2002 to 2005, and from 1999 to 2002 he was media editor. Prior to that, he opened the FT's bureau in Shanghai.

Wheatcroft replaced Sarah Sands, who left as editor of the Sunday Telegraph in early March.
