Tim Evans takes over as group marketing director at BT

LONDON - Telecoms giant BT has named Tim Evans as its group marketing director and Bartle Bogle Hegarty veteran Rebecca Morgan as head of marketing communications.

Evans replaces Amanda Mackenzie, who quit in June to become vice-president of marketing for HP's EMEA region.

He was previously strategy and marketing director for BT Business, responsible for building the overall customer-centric strategy for BT Retail's small and medium-sized business division. He also launched the BT Business Plan, which caps fixed-line calls to numbers in the UK and US.

Patterson, BT group managing director for consumer and ventures, said: "During his time in BT Business, Tim has been instrumental in the fight to hold our share of the calls market through the development and launch of the innovative BT Business Plan and has also taken BT Business to the forefront of the broadband access market and successfully launched BT Broadband Office Complete."

Morgan replaces Catherine Kehoe, who was given the new role of head of strategy and marketing for BT Business in March this year.

She started at BBH in account management but moved to account planning in 2000, and her current role as planning group head includes strategic planning responsibility for the Barclays Group account, managing a team of three planners, and overall management of the Barclays account.
