Bleakley joins from Emap Advertising, where he worked as the broadcast sales director. He takes over Punter's former role running Viacom's sales and marketing efforts, working alongside the company's other joint managing director, Andrew Oldham, who is responsible for the company's franchise and delivery divisions.
Punter is moving to the newly created role of chief operating officer, where he will be looking to gear up Viacom Outdoor's European business - it currently has various roadside, street furniture and transport contracts in France, Italy, The Netherlands, Finland and Spain. He will work alongside Viacom Outdoor's European chief executive, Tom Goddard, and Mike Baker, its European marketing and development director.
"The new positions add strength to the European team and support our ambitious expansion plans. We're especially excited about Tim joining us. He brings valuable experience of other media and is a big hitter in the world of media sales. We think culturally he's a great fit with Viacom Outdoor and will provide an injection of additional experience to the senior team," Goddard said.
Bleakley added: "There are a few companies I would have left Emap for, but Viacom Outdoor is one of them. The company has taken a significant lead in the incredible growth in outdoor revenue and in building the out-of-home sector."
