Matthew Cox has joined the sales house's digital team as account manager after leaving radio group Chrysalis, where he was digital sales account manager.
Damon Garwood has joined VBS from children's entertainment company Jetix Europe, while Paul Heitzman has moved internally from MTV Networks Europe.
Garwood and Heitzman have become account managers and will report to VBS head of digital, Sean Worrell.
Nick Bampton, managing director of VBS, said that he wanted to recruit account managers with a wide range of experience for the firm's digital department, rather than online specialists. He said the sales house had seen huge growth in branding campaigns online.
Branding exercises
Bampton added: "Most of the growth in online advertising so far has been in search and some display advertising, but both are transaction-based types of advertising.
"Proper branding exercises have eventually seen growth this year. Where broadcasters would previously run direct response advertising, they are now recognising that the internet is just another platform, like satellite, cable and terrestrial TV."
Bampton added: "We've seen significant movement in the area of branding campaigns: I would say well over 100% growth this year."
He also predicted that the exponential rise in direct response advertising online would subside and that branding campaigns would enjoy explosive growth.
"The internet is swamped with transactional advertising and this will start to slow down," he said. "People are realising that the internet is not a threat to TV; it's just another distribution platform."
