
Charity The Big Issue Foundation is partnering with Hartshorn-Hook Productions and The Flanagan Collective to present an immersive theatre version of A Christmas Carol. The show, which debuted on 12 December), will see guests invited to the parlour of Ebeneezer Scrooge for a rousing rendition of the timeless classic served over a two-course Christmas feast, with parlour games, Christmas songs and spirited trickery.

Intu is showcasing a virtual reality (VR) multi player family game. Visitors to the shopping centre in Nottingham can step from a winter log cabin in the shopping centre to a virtual reality winter wonderland where they can decorate a Christmas tree and share their creations with friends and family online. Intu is piloting the experience as it looks to roll-out virtual reality experiences across its 15 centres nationwide next year. The pilot will examine the impact of VR leisure experiences on dwell time, customer loyalty and the shopping experience alongside other leisure activities in shopping centres such as a trip to the cinema or meals out.

Augmented reality (AR) app Blippar is offering members of the public the chance to meet Santa in an interactive rooftop experience at Covent Garden. The activation involves visitors meeting Santa before embarking on a journey to help him find his missing reindeer. Along the way they will unlock hints and clues using the free Blippar app. As they leave, guests are invited to take part in a digital treasure hunt around Covent Garden to unlock more magical experiences, with the chance to win daily prizes.
