Third-quarter profits rise to $1.8m at Greenfield Online

LONDON - Greenfield Online has posted a net profit of $1.8m (拢0.94m) for the third quarter of 2006, compared with $1.5m for the same period last year.

Revenue was $24.9m for the three months to September 30 from $23.1m for the prior year period.

Greenfield Online operates in Europe through its Ciao! subsidiary. The Ciao! comparison shopping service grew revenues by 93% over the third quarter, from $2.6m to $5m. Ciao! internet surveys revenues rose from $6.8m for the third quarter in 2005 to $7m this year.

Albert Angrisani, president and chief executive officer at Greenfield, said: "We are raising our annual guidance to reflect the progress that we have made in many areas of the business.

"Our third-quarter results reflect real progress. Nevertheless, we are not satisfied, as there is still a considerable amount of work to be done to prepare the company for growth and expansion in 2007."
