
MediaCom and Wavemaker lead a varied shortlist in this year's Thinkbox TV Planning Awards, run in partnership with 北京赛车pk10.
Picking up the most shortlisted entries was MediaCom, followed by Wavemaker.
Although two of MediaCom's four shortlisted entries are in the same category, judges have the discretion to bestow special awards on particularly deserving work.
Somewhat unsually, no other agency has more than one shortlisted entry, including Manning Gottlieb OMD, last year's Grand Prix winner and one of the most decorated agency in the 11 years of the TV Planning Awards.
Last year, MG OMD won the Grand Prix and Best Use of Content for "Breaking the last taboo" with Age UK. The agency went on to pick up a further award – Best Use of TV Innovation – with Specsavers and was also highly commended for its work for Virgin Trains in the Best Use of TV And… category.
The competition celebrates brilliant use of commercial TV and will be judged next week. Winning entries will be celebrated at an afternoon ceremony on 4 July and published alongside 北京赛车pk10.
There are six categories, with the potential for additional special awards decided by the judges, chaired by Thinkbox chair Tess Alps.
