McDonald's in France has created an ad that plays on its regional 'come as you are' strap line by replacing character's heads with emojis.

McDonald's: customers are reimagined as emojis in French spot
McDonald's: customers are reimagined as emojis in French spot

The spot shows a group en route to a McDonald's restaurant passing by an exhausted runner, happy busker, angry worker, plus an emoji policeman and a biker going through a drive through.  It also shows a naughty child stealing chips from a kissing couple.

The spot plays on the popularity of the icons and is set to the track "Video Killed the Radio Star."

But whilst it taps into the emoji craze, in its alternative view of reality, is it also a tad disturbing?
