Spain relief for Clear Channel
Clear Channel has snatched its second valuable municipal contract in Europe from rival JCDecaux in the space of three months, bagging the bus shelters in Barcelona after a similar deal in Madrid in March.
It will be more than a consolation for Clear Channel, which lost the London bus shelters to JCDecaux a year ago.
Given the outbreak of postBrexit vote jitters in the UK, Clear Channel might even feel it got lucky by steering clear of the Transport for London contract.
Elle UK pushing the needle
Elle UK is putting embroidery on its September front cover, which relaunches the Hearst Magazines title. Using the skills of embroiderer Claire Barrett from Hawthorne & Heaney, Elle is using the cover to show that both the fashion world and the magazine are changing "beyond measure".
The cover is one of five available to pre-order. The others feature Kristen Stewart, Zayn Malik, Hari Nef and Amandla Stenberg. Hearst Magazines is revamping Elle with a new look and a stronger distribution.

Diversity eluding the tech giants
Google doesn’t seem anywhere close to hitting its diversity targets to mirror the population, according to US company data.
The number of non-white and nonAsian employees has not changed much since last year, with African-American, Hispanic and multiracial groups each making up no more than 3% of the workforce. According to Reuters, Facebook and Twitter’s staff are similarly lacking in diversity.
