London director Gundeep Anand created a stirring film about The Last Stand, the street football tournament he launched last year to unite communities across the city.
The second tournament took place on 2 July in the shadow of Grenfell Tower, a poignant reminder of the tragedy faced by the local community. Six teams of young people competed, and the half-time event featured a street dance performance by Gambino and an appearance by Premier League player Yannick Bolasie, who spoke about the importance of street football and community-led projects. The team Tekksquad won the tournament, which closed with a performance by rapper Big Zuu. The Last Stand is supported by Rattling Stick and The Mill.
