Thames Water is launching a sub-brand dubbed New Wave as part of the firm's transformation into a mail order and e-commerce retailer.

The brand will spearhead Thames Water's commercial strategy of becoming a broad retailer of non-regulated products and services, initially focusing on white goods, gardening equipment and kitchen appliances.

The company this week launches a customer magazine called New Wave, which will be distributed to its one million customers. The publication and an associated web site are being created by Publicis Blueprint.

Marketing activity will be run by the brand's agency of record, Marketing Drive Worldwide. Thames Water said there are no plans for an ad campaign.

The quarterly New Wave magazine includes a series of event and lifestyle-based features, as well as mail order offers for branded goods.
