Earlier this year, Tesco announced it was combining the Sports for Schools and Clubs and Computers for Schools projects.
The new scheme, Tesco for Schools and Clubs, will run head to head with Sainsbury's Active Kids scheme next spring.
The supermarket is still working on the offer, which will include several new elements as part of an attempt to outflank Sainsbury's Active Kids. These include an environmental plan to provide schools with learning tools such as solar panels and composting bins.
Following Sainsbury's lead, Tesco is also introducing a cooking section to its catalogue as well as a "creativity" section, including guitars, violins, design software and digital cameras.
Sainsbury's head of sponsorship and Active Kids Rob Crumbie said it was unlikely the retailer would look to match Tesco's computer offer.
