LONDON (Brand Republic) - Tempus Group, the UK marketing and media services company, saw pre-tax profits rise by 29% to £22.5m as the Euro-centric group offered an optimistic outlook for 2001.
Revenues rose 63% to £151.3m, up 70% in the year to December 31 2000, and new-business wins rose to £594m, up 52% on last time.
Tempus鈥檚 media-buying network CIA saw revenues increase by 31% to £114.3m and marketing services arm Added Value also reported strong revenue growth.
Its digital services arm Outrider had a more challenging year as the brand was rolled out in Europe, but suffered rationalisation in the US as the downturn in dotcom business bit.
With less reliance on US business than some of its larger competitors, Tempus chairman Chris Ingram offered an optimistic outlook for the group in 2001. He stressed that currently only 11% of Tempus鈥檚 revenues emanate from the US.
鈥淲hile, over time, we expect to build the revenue base in the USA significantly, in the current climate our existing geographical mix is highly beneficial as it offers more protection against the US-led slowdown in advertising revenue. Perhaps even more important than the profile of our business is that we are still sufficiently small and fast on our feet to buck market trends,鈥 he said.
