MUTA has also brought in a new secretariat to assist the membership in achieving its goals. The organisation is now working with local authorities, venues, venue owners and organisers to ensure their suppliers are MUTA-accredited.
An awareness campaign will target local authorities, venues, venue owners and organisers as well as specialist, regional and local authority media.
The organisation has also secured funding for an NVQ training programme.
"Our 2008 membership survey and a series of internal discussions have led to a renewed focus on the issues that matter most to our members, such as health and safety, NVQ training and the recognition of the skills and experience base of our membership," said MUTA president Tony Marsh.
