A new category of ’Best new user’ has proved to be one of the most
popular categories in this year’s Marketing Telemarketing Awards, which
have attracted a record number of entries.
Customer loyalty, business leads and new channels to market have also
been particularly well supported, and there has been a welcome increase
in the number of entries in the travel and leisure and charities
categories.
The competition has attracted submissions from a large number of
companies in many industries, ranging alphabetically from Alton Towers
to Xerox.
Mike Hewitt, editor of Marketing, will chair the judging panel. The
judges so far appointed include Fraser Watson of OgilvyOne Worldwide,
Peter McCarthy of Telecom Potential, Howard Sandom of BT, Kate Sampson
of Classic FM, Amanda Hortin-Mastin of Comic Relief and Richard Peel of
The Coba Renaissance Group.
BT is the principal sponsor of the competition, which is endorsed by the
Direct Marketing Association. Individual categories are sponsored by
Sitel, The Merchants Group, Brann and Phone Box.
Entries have closed, but information about tickets for the awards lunch
can be obtained from Nici Brooks (tel 0171 413 4161, fax 0171 413 4331).
