Telegraph unveils commercial appointments and replaces D'Ancona

LONDON – The Telegraph Group has made a number of appointments on its commercial team, as well as replacing the departing Sunday Telegraph deputy editor Matthew D'Ancona.

Following D'Ancona's appointment as the editor of The Spectator, the paper's executive editor Richard Ellis has been promoted to take his place as deputy to editor Sarah Sands.

On the commercial side, Robin James has been promoted to take over the day-to-day running of the Telegraph Group's newspaper sales team as ad manager.

Ken Breen, sales director at the Telegraph Group, said: "Robin's appointment allows us to deliver greater focus day to day, and frees up more time for the senior team to enhance our trading approach to agencies and clients."

There have been two appointments at Telegraph Create, the advertising projects team, with James Mann stepping up from managing sports clients to group head of client sales.

Jon Tickner is joining Create from The Guardian, where he was client account manager on the display team, to develop agency relationships, especially at the planning stage.
