Telegraph signs Premiership sponsorship deal with 3

LONDON - The Sunday Telegraph has signed a sponsorship deal with third-generation mobile network 3 UK to sponsor a 36-page Premiership supplement appearing this weekend.

The supplement will include an interview with Sir Bobby Robson, an analysis by Gary Lineker of each team's chances and a piece by Graeme Le Saux about Gianfranco Zola, who has returned to Italy to end his career.

It will be backed with an advertising campaign created by Clemmow Hornby Inge, screening on ITV, Channel 4 and Five on August 8 and 9.

Hutchison Whampoa-owned 3 UK already has a deal with the Premiership to feature highlights on its video messaging, which it now offers for free in a bid to sign up more subscribers.

The sponsorship deal with the Sunday Telegraph was negotiated by James Mann, strategic planner at the Telegraph Group. It also includes sponsorship of a separate Premiership supplement appearing in the Daily Telegraph on Saturday August 16.
