The personal finance advice section will be renamed Personal Finance from September, when the deal comes into effect. The agreement will enable Barclays Financial Planning to run advertising, direct mail and promote seminars in association with the Telegraph.
The Personal Finance section will offer financial news and advice, virtual portfolios, blogs and videos. As part of the deal, it will create a series of "how to" guides for readers. The deal was negotiated for Barclays by media agency Walker Media group account director Sam Hale.
Barclays Financial Planning has 800 financial planning managers across the UK and gives customers advice on investments, pensions and protections. It pools products and services from several financial services brands, including AXA, Legal & General, Norwich Union and Aegon.
Andrew Morley, Telegraph Media Group's agency sales director, said it was "the most sophisticated deal" the company had done since it restructured into multi-media hubs. "We will be developing an integrated media solution that will see the BFP brand replicated across all our platforms," he added.
