Telegraph launches The Earth Channel

The Telegraph is to launch The Earth Channel this week, providing news, views and features on environmental matters.

Found at www.Telegraph.co.uk/earth, it will analyse issues including climate change and how to reduce carbon footprints, as well as giving users the chance to share their views and photographs.

The Earth Channel is part of a wider greener living consumer- oriented initiative for Telegraph Media Group. Environment editor Charles Clover will write a weekly column, The Earthlog, alongside Neil McCormick's EcoLogical feature.

Launch commercial partners include B&Q, Ariel and the Energy Saving Trust.

Olympus has agreed to give away six E-400 digital SLR cameras to encourage readers to upload compelling images of climate change.

Dave King, TMG executive director, said The Earth Channel offered advertisers and commercial partners an opportunity to promote their green credentials in association with Telegraph Media Group.
