TBWA resigns part of Kmart in clash with Levi’s

TBWA\Chiat\Day is resigning part of the Kmart account it won last month because the US retailer’s jeans brand clashes with its prize Levi’s account.

LONDON (Brand Republic) – TBWA\Chiat\Day is resigning part of the Kmart account it won last month because the US retailer’s jeans brand clashes with its prize Levi’s account.

TBWA will continue to work on the rest of the Kmart business, but the New York office will relinquish the Kmart Route 66 jeans brand portion of the account. The Levi Strauss account is handled out of TBWA’s San Francisco office.

TBWA said the work would be dealt with by Omnicom sister company Zimmerman & Partners in Florida, but denied the move was down to the clash with Levi’s.
