TBWA GGT Simons Palmer has made its most senior hiring on the
NatWest account, poaching Steve Wreyford from BMP to head the group
running NatWest’s retail and corporate banking services.
Wreyford, 36, joined on 2 November and will report to Peter Jones and
Penny Reid, who jointly head the pounds 50 million NatWest account. The
team will be based in the agency’s so-called ’NatWest Village’ in Dean
Street.
At BMP, Wreyford was the board account director for Alliance & Leicester
and also ran the Friskies and UUNet accounts. Before joining BMP in
1994, he was at DMB&B, working on Umbro, Fiat and House of Fraser.
Wreyford said: ’It’s a really exciting opportunity for me to work on an
integrated piece of business. What impressed me was not only TBWA’s
commitment to NatWest, but also NatWest’s commitment to TBWA. TBWA is a
really exciting place to be right now. The merger has caused an
addictive buzz in the agency, which I want to be part of.’
