Taxi rides for book crits: Behind the idea that got two young creatives noticed by ad agencies

±±¾©Èü³µpk10 gets a lift from the young creative team who came up with a unique idea to break into the advertising industry.

It’s not easy breaking into London’s ad industry. So Shannon Cripps and Bethany Wood, recent graduates from the University of Lincoln, approached their search for a placement like they would an advertising brief

Agency creative chiefs are busy, but everyone has to get to work somehow. Cripps and Wood came up with the idea to offer execs a free lift to work in a taxi in exchange for a book crit. Partnering with taxi app Gett, the pair shared rides with creatives including Ana and Hermeti Balarin from Mother and Chris Bovill from Warner Music’s The Firepit.

±±¾©Èü³µpk10’s creativity editor Brittaney Kiefer rode along with Cripps and Wood to talk to them about how they came up with the idea, what they’ve learned, and what they would change about advertising.
