Kubaisi's appointment comes as Glassworks prepares for the launch of its new 2K Spirit Telecine suite, the installation of which has led to a total refurbishment of the company's building.
He is known for his work on ads including the Lux spot starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Renault Clio, as well as on many promos for Robbie Williams and on Kylie Minogue's 'Slow'. Before joining Glassworks, Kubaisi worked for rival post-production company VTR for 12 years.
Glassworks has also hired Anthea Mousely as a producer. She also joins from VTR, and has worked on campaigns for Rimmel and Dairylea.
During the installation of the new kit, the closure of a street had to be negotiated and a crane hired to get it through a window after it proved too big to go through the door.
Hector Macleod, managing director of Glassworks, said: "The introduction of a Spirit 2K, Smoke and full high-definition pipeline at Glassworks is a continuation of our campaign to offer our clients the full gamut of equipment required for completion of their projects, while maintaining a unique, compact and focused facility offering a real alternative to the larger, less agile facilities."
Glassworks recent work includes spots for Lemsip, Honda and Egg Finance, and it is about to start work on the new McFly promo.
