TalkSport supplies branded DAB radios to Currys

LONDON - TalkSport is promoting its World Cup coverage by supplying 20,000 TalkSport-branded Pure DAB digital radios featuring innovative text display exclusively to Currys.

TalkSport is the only commercial station to broadcast live games from the tournament, and also the only station to offer the Intellitext service that Pure radios can take advantage of.

The Pure model saves text information, for example football scores, lottery results and traffic reports, allowing listeners to check something they have missed by scrolling back on the display.

The radios cost £49.99 and will be in Currys stores from Friday.

TalkSport's rival Virgin Radio is running a promotion in association with JVC, which involves a JVC in-car CD and DAB tuner being given away every day in the last two weeks of May on the drivetime show with Martin Collins.
