T3 gadget title gets makeover

LONDON - Future, the specialist publisher, is revamping its gadget title T3 with a raft of new features as it looks to distance itself from its rival, Stuff magazine.

The relaunched May issue, which goes on sale on 31 March, will look to emphasise Future's claim that T3 is "the broadsheet" to Stuff's "tabloid magazine".

Changes include longer features, which will now run to between 3,000 and 4,000 words.

There will also be three new sections that will cover the latest gadgets for home, work, play and outdoors.

The magazine's cover price will remain at £3.99, while the title will also introduce a new monthly contribution by Newsweek columnist Dan Lyons.

According to latest Audit Bureau of Circulations figures, T3's circulation was 60,127 between January and December 2008, a year-on-year rise of about 100 copies.

Stuff, which is produced by Media Week publisher Haymarket, recorded a circulation of 95,072, according to its latest ABC figure.
