T-Mobile extends relax theme to Euro 2004 ad campaign

LONDON - T-Mobile has extended its 'relax' advertising, created by Saatchi & Saatchi, to back its 拢12m sponsorship of this summer's Euro 2004 football championships.

The new television advertising launches today and promotes special tariffs and Euro 2004-themed add-ons such as wallpapers, ringtones and a game.

The 30-second ad opens on a shot of a Uefa Euro 2004-branded football being held in the air by a pair of legs. The camera starts to pull back and shows an unseen footballer performing a series of skilful tricks.

As more of the shot is revealed, the footballer is shown to be lying down on his back with his head resting on the same magenta cushion as used in other T-Mobile ads, talking on a telephone. The voiceover highlights the Euro 2004 tariff, free texts and add-ons.

Sandy Munro, marketing director for T-Mobile, said: "T-Mobile is becoming synonymous with the world of international football and we are very proud to be sponsors of the Uefa Euro 2004 tournament. Our Relax tariffs are not just for football fans; they offer a great deal to anyone who wants to take advantage of the added value packages."

The ads will run during every Euro 2004 match shown on ITV1. There is a supporting print campaign, with media handled by Universal McCann.
