LONDON - T-Mobile has hired Elvis Communications to handle its sales-promotion account.

T-Mobile awards business to Elvis

The mobile operator has briefed Elvis to oversee work including point-of-sale and store design across its 255 UK retail outlets, as well as develop experiential activity.

The business moves from Iris, which parted company with T-Mobile last December. Its direct and online account will remain with Tullo Marshall Warren (TMW).

The latter portion of work was picked up by digital-TMW last January. T-Mobile had originally approached agencies with plans to consolidate its below-the-line activity, but now appears to have decided to retain a roster of direct shops (Marketing, 11 December).

Last month, T-Mobile and Orange launched a joint six-month trial in London of a mobile-TV service featuring 24 high-resolution TV channels and 10 digital radio stations.

T-Mobile declined to comment on the appointment of Elvis.
