Synergy hires former Manchester United strategist Thode

Sponsorship consultancy Synergy has appointed former Manchester United and Reuters strategist Carsten Thode as director of consulting.

Thode started his career as a strategy consultant for Marakon Associates, working on clients including Diageo, Schweppes, Boots and Lloyds TSB.

He then spent seven years at Reuters in roles including global sponsorship manager for Reuters’ golf and F1 sponsorships.

He was also head of strategic relationships at Manchester United.  More recently, he was involved in two start-up companies, luxury brand suppliers Bokks UK and Vivaboxes International.

Synergy is a sponsorship agency owned by the Engine Group. Its clients include Diageo, Philips, Coca-Cola and Royal Bank of Scotland Group.
