The brainchild of car enthusiast Gary Redman, this year’s event will start from Canary Wharf and see around 50 luxury cars travel for six days to Amsterdam, Geneva, Cannes, Valencia and ending in Marbella.
All of the participants in the event, which starts on 27 August, will be staying in five star hotels along the way, which includes the famous Route Napoleon from Cannes to Geneva, as well as a car valeting service.
Vanessa Carter, director of Swordfish Events, told Event that this is the company’s largest and most challenging project.
"We do a couple of other car-related events but the level of detail that goes into Cannonball by far outweighs any other event that we do," she said.
Carter explained that Swordfish had planned this year’s route and visited all of the sites before last year’s inaugural event had even taken place.
This year’s line up of cars includes Maseratis, Ferraris, Lambourghinis and Aston Martins.
"There isn’t much space in some of the cars so we do end up helping some of the ladies with their luggage," added Carter.
