Sunday Times CD celebrates summer festival season

LONDON - The Sunday Times has compiled an eight-track CD to celebrate the summer music festival season, featuring artists such as Morrissey, The Strokes and Belle & Sebastian.

The CD will be given away with copies of the August 22 edition in the London LWT-Carlton TV area. The move will be supported by a radio campaign on the same day.

Morrissey and the other festival stalwarts are joined on the CD by British Sea Power, The Delays, Eastern Lane, South and Hal, who have appeared at various music events over the summer.

Andrew Mullins, the marketing director at Times Newspapers, said: "This CD should give readers a real taster of some fantastic new artists -- some of whom will be performing at Reading and Leeds Carling Weekend Festival in the forthcoming few weeks. It will be a great keepsake to celebrate the end of the festival season."
