The Sun drops Central region cover price by a third

LONDON - Rupert Murdoch's flagship tabloid, The Sun, has today slashed its cover price from 30p to 20p in the Central TV region as it looks to drive circulation forward.

The drop in the Central TV region includes Birmingham and Oxford, follows last week's .

That rise came eight months after a price cut from 30p to 20p.

The News Internatioanl tabloid is still price discounting from 30p to 20p in London and South East, as it looks to win readers from rivals The Daily Mirror, priced at 45p, and The Daily Star, priced at 20p.

The Sun's circulation has hovered around the three million mark in recent times. According to ABC data, its circulation has been above three million in two of the past five months.
