
Gale, who is currently European sales and marketing director at Playboy TV, will join the publisher in November and cover all brand marketing for the paper and its auxiliary products, which include Sun Bingo and Dream Team.
He will report to Barnaby Dawe, director of marketing for The Sun and the News of the World.
Playboy TV claims to have the most-established and most-watched adult brands in Europe, broadcasting to 27 countries on a range of platforms including satellite, cable, and IPTV.
It promises "the most desirable women in the most exotic locations around the world", while its adult channel specialises in "day-to-day situations with everyday girls".
Dawe said: "Richard is an important new hire for The Sun. He brings a wealth of experience of brand marketing in the media industry, as well as digital expertise, that will make him a valuable addition to the team."
This week, The Sun launched an for its new Saturday TV Magazine, Buzz, featuring a celebrity-led TV and outdoor campaign featuring Forsyth, Denise Van Outen and George Lamb.
It also included PR and social media outreach, as the , also called Buzz, as a pre-launch teaser.
