Subway gets Spanish fever in latest spot

Subway has launched the latest spot in its ongoing "my sub, my way" campaign, featuring the flamenco dancer Gareth Twinkleman.

In the ad, created by McCann London, Twinkleman inappropriately breaks into flamenco moves. However, his time finally comes when he orders the Spanish-style chorizo at Subway.

At McCann London the creative team behind the campaign was James Rooke and Melissa Cain. The executive creative director was Laurence Thomson. The spot was directed by Vesa Manninen through Outsider.

Radio and outdoor media will support the TV ad, which launched this week and will run until 4 November.

Roger Cusa, the head of marketing for Subway in the UK and Ireland said: "It’s always exciting to be adding new options to bolster our existing offering and we think the new campaign demonstrates how we take our customers passions and place these at the heart of what we do as a brand.

"Our customers know that Subway is all about providing great value, great quality and great tasting Subs, and doing this with a smile and a great sense of fun – this is why we love our new Gareth TV spot."

Previous Subway characters getting sandwiches their own way have included Keith, Janet and Bruce.
