StrawberryFrog nets advertising task for UPC's digital service

StrawberryFrog has won the task to launch UPC Digital, a digital

television service owned by the broadband communications company United

Pan-Europe Communications, across Europe.

The Amsterdam-based agency beat a number of undisclosed international

agencies in a pitch for the business. Naked has also been appointed to

handle media strategy. The appointment will not immediately conflict

with Naked's ITV Digital account, as the project will begin in Austria

and the Netherlands before being rolled out across other European

markets.

BlueberryFrog, StrawberryFrog's sister guerilla marketing agency, will

handle the viral and interactive activity on the account.

UPC Digital will offer its customers a new digital platform that will

offer a wider choice of entertainment and information and increased

picture and sound quality.

Lee Clayton, the managing director of marketing, programming and

customer care at UPC, said: "Digital is a whole new world of

communication, information and entertainment products and services, and

not just limited to your television set. Customers will be able to

choose which best fits their needs."

He added: "We are excited that StrawberryFrog will assist us in creating

the UPC Digital ad campaign."

Scott Goodson, a creative partner of StrawberryFrog, added: "It's

revolutionary television. If you as a consumer like TV, you're going to

love UPC Digital."
