Strategic director quits News International

- News International strategic planning director Andrew Christie has resigned from the publisher. Christie, who was promoted from head of strategic planning in September 1999, was said to be pursuing other career opportunities. He will remain with the company until February but will be switched immediately from strategic planning to other corporate projects.

Christie, who was promoted from head of strategic planning in September 1999, was said to be pursuing other career opportunities. He will remain with the company until February but will be switched immediately from strategic planning to other corporate projects.

The company has no immediate replacement in line for Christie and is currently considering whether his position will be filled directly. Fiona Harbottle will become the interim contact for brand planning with Stuart Coke taking responsibility for advertising planning.
