The Straight 8 event, run by Ed Sayers and Ben Gregor of production company Godman, invited agencies to compete against each other, with the audience deciding who wins at the charity event held on June 16.
Creatives from agencies, including Grey, HHCL/Red Cell, Iris, cdp-travissully, CHJM, Leo Burnett, Mustoes, Publicis, Saatchi & Saatchi, St Luke's and WCRS, have submitted films with a taster of the entries available to view on Beam TV's .
The competition asked agencies to film on a single cartridge of super 8mm for three-and-a-half minutes of film on any subject of their choice.
Sayers, Godman managing director and Straight 8 organiser, said: "It's brilliant that ad agencies have been game on for entering something so hard and so public.
"We are looking forward to seeing them on the edge of their seats waiting to see their film unveiled for the very first time in front of a huge industry and public audience. It's scary stuff."
The event is being held at The Curzon Cinema in Mayfair with proceeds going to the winning agency's nominated charity, with potential beneficiaries including Asthma UK, Shooting Star Children's Hospice and The Starlight Children's Programme.
Last year, Grey won for its film 'Horse' and runner-up was DFGW for 'The Moon'.
Last year, Straight 8 produced the hour-long Straight 8 TV, which was broadcast on Channel 4 in 2004 and 2005 showcasing some of the best films in its history.
