Stones roll dice with Monopoly edition

Legendary rockers the Rolling Stones have extended the bands' brand presence by teaming with toy manufacturer Hasbro for a special Monopoly edition.

The new edition, which follows branded versions of the world’s best selling game including Star Wars Monopoly and Coronation Street Monopoly, will replace London streets such as Park Place, which is renamed a Bigger Bang after the Stones’ 2009 album, and Baltic Avenue, which takes the new moniker ‘Sticky Fingers’, after the 1971 classic recording.

It is the first rock-based edition since Hasbro released a Beatles board two years ago. Chance and Community Chest are now Lyrics and Licks and the four railroads are classic Stones tours. Players will not have to pay Luxury Tax as part of the new edition, but will instead have to purchase concert tickets.

Rather than a dog or a shoe, players will use a set of devil horns, in a nod to classic Stones hit ‘Sympathy For The Devil’, wild horses or a tour bus to navigate the bespoke games board. Other classic locations such as the water works and electric company are now drums and a guitar.

The Stones version of the game is part of Monopoly’s 75th year anniversary. The world’s best selling game is now available in 103 countries and produced in 37 languages.

The new edition is manufactured by Hasbro under licence from USAopoly.
