The agency won the account following a competitive pitch handled directly by the client.

DHM will be responsible for handling TV, press, outdoor, digital and social media for the new beverage as it looks to compete against alcoholic ginger beer brand rival, Crabbie's.

Stone's is owned by Accolade Wines, formerly Constellation Wines Australia and Europe, which is behind brands such as Hardys, Echo Falls and Banrock Station.

The company launched Ginger Joe in February and aimed it at upmarket consumers.

In the past Constellation Wines has used Publicis London, Billington Cartmell and Initials to work on advertising briefs.

Justin Holloway, strategy partner at DHM, said: "Ginger Joe is a new brand with an exciting future. We're delighted to be helping shape it."
