Barry Sayer, chief executive of Clear Channel Outdoor in Africa and South Africa, will replace her on an interim basis.
Spring agreed to leave the firm last week after meetings with Clear Channel's US executives.
Last year, the outdoor division of the US media giant was spun off and floated. Until now Clear Channel UK has largely operated independently. However, since the flotation, Clear Channel is understood to want more control over its offices around the world and insiders say Spring did not agree with some of the proposed changes to the organisation in the UK.
Spring, who has a high profile in the marketing and advertising communities, joined the company six years ago from advertising agency Young & Rubicam.
During her time at Clear Channel she has overseen rapid expansion at the company, and the rebrand of its billboard business from More O'Ferrall to Clear Channel.
She also oversaw a pitch that culminated in the company winning the internationally contested bid for the 10-year bus shelter contract worth £250m from Transport for London.
Clear Channel is understood to be moving some of its backroom operations, currently run from the UK, to its headquarters in Phoenix Arizona. The decision has meant that international marketing director Robert Thurner, who was based in London, has been made redundant.
The company is also considering moving from its central London offices in Golden Square to its research and development offices in Earls Court.
