Fallon McElligott has appointed Steve Waring, a founding member of
the chartered accountants, Willott Kingston Smith, as its finance
director.
Waring has been a consultant in financial and management advice in the
advertising and marketing sector for 11 years. He helped to launch
Willott Kingston Smith in 1991 and was made the fourth partner in 1997.
The company now employs 50 staff.
’I have found like-minded partners at Fallon,’ Waring said. ’Robert
Senior, Michael Wall, Laurence Green, Richard Flintham and Andy McLeod
are an impressive and ambitious group of individuals. My role is to run
the business side and to look at possible areas of expansion.’
Waring, who spent a period in temporary charge at Bartle Bogle Hegarty
six years ago, wrote the advertising section of Willott Kingston Smith’s
annual survey on the financial performance of marketing services
companies.
He has also lectured and written on management and financial issues in
advertising agencies.
Green, a managing partner at Fallon, said: ’As the agency continues to
grow it owes itself and its clients outstanding financial management. We
are flattered that Steve has brought his skills and his love of the
advertising business to bear at Fallon.’
Waring has been advising Fallon since the agency started up nearly 18
months ago and helped to negotiate the deal struck by the five London
partners with the US parent company.
Fallon, which won the pounds 10 million UK Skoda account from Grey
Advertising in December, claims to have billings of pounds 35 million
after only 15 months in business. Its other clients include BBC Radio,
Starbucks Coffee, Nando’s Chicken, IPC magazines, Lee Jeans and Timex.
